National SDG Tracker

Leading the design and development of Bangladesh’s first national SDG Tracker (sdg.gov.bd).

Context

Monitoring progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) requires bringing together indicator data from many sources and making it accessible to policymakers and the public. Without a common platform, this information stays fragmented across reports and institutions, and progress is hard to see at a glance.

My Role

As Senior Software Engineer at a2i, I led the design and development of Bangladesh’s first national SDG Tracker.

What was built

The SDG Tracker, available at sdg.gov.bd, is a national digital platform for tracking the country’s progress on the Sustainable Development Goals. Leading both design and development meant taking the platform from concept to a working national system: structuring how SDG information is organised, and building the application that presents it.

This work sat alongside other platform engineering at a2i in the same period, including leading development of the National Portal Framework and contributing to OISF.

Outcome

The platform became Bangladesh’s first national SDG Tracker, giving a single digital reference point for SDG progress monitoring in the country.
